PROGRAMS Unique to Law Practices
CREATING SUCCESSFUL PARTNERSHIPS
This
three phase program is designed for lawyers who are considering
merging their law practices with another. Attorneys interested
in this program will be those committed to creating a new
partnership, wisely and objectively. They want be clear on what
the most important considerations are before making the decision
to partner, or not, and value taking the time necessary to ensure
the partnership they do create is the right one and is equipped
with what both parties need in order to be successful.
Attorneys interested in this program recognize
how important it is to ensure that all person’s involved in
this potential partnership share a similar belief and value system. They recognize
the importance of clearly understanding the future ambitions of all
parties concerned and want to know the needs and desires of each other
personally and professionally, short and long term. They recognize
that all these factors are critical to the decision they make and
the success of the partnership they may form.
The three phases to the Successful Partnership Program are:
PHASE I: Exploring Partnership Possibilities
Purpose: To explore the
opportunities and obstacles of entering into a law practice
partnership. The end result of this process is that the potential
partners will:
(1) Have information to assist them in making a decision
to move forward with the partnership or not.
(2) Have the experience of being aligned with the decision
that is made and satisfied with the process that led to their
choice.
(3) Have a greater understanding of each person’s beliefs,
values and styles of communication.
PHASE II: Capturing the Partnership’s Vision
Purpose: To capture the mission and vision of
the new firm and create a plan that identifies goals and objectives aligned the vision and
mission. Partners will achieve alignment with the plan and establish
a set of agreements within which they will work together. Roles and
responsibilities, lines of communication, and alignment of purpose
and meaning of the partnership are created.
PHASE III: Empowering the Partnership
Purpose: To learn communication skills and relationship
management tools that can be used to effectively to work
together, make critical decisions timely, and master the
art of dealing with conflict with partners objectively. Achieve
clarity on goals and objectives so that the new partners can forward
consistently and congruently.
