ProfiTune Business Analysis
We Start by Measuring the Profit You're Losing
Our first step in assessing a business to see whether it
is appropriate to apply our business improvement processes,
is to conduct a ProfiTune Business Analysis (or BA) which provides
an accurate assessment of the "unrealized profit potential" of
the business in its present format.
From the moment that our Clients begin answering its-sometimes-unsettling
(some say “quirky”) questions, of a Business Analysis
Questionnaire they begin to see where their business is currently
leaking profits, and, even at this early stage, how they might begin
the process of stopping those leaks. Such is the power of “the
right question”. The BA starts with a 50 page questionnaire
that plumbs the depths of both the business, and the depths of the
owner or manager’s
relationship with it. Around 60% of its questions are of a type that
our Clients can typically answer “off the top of their head,
sitting at their kitchen table”, while the balance require reference
to their accounting systems or databases.
Our Business Analysis includes Market Research
While our Client is completing their part of the BA, we are
carrying out our unique Market Research with a nominated selection
of their Customers and Suppliers in order to gain “an X-ray
view of their business as it is viewed from the outside”.
Suppliers are motivated to assist our research because
they see an improvement in our client's business as a potential
for growth in their consumption of their products, and suppliers
often provide a uniquely informed perspective on our client's business.
After all, they see it in the context of its wider marketplace and
its competition, and we gain valuable insights into how we can begin
the process of performance improvement. Customers are similarly
motivated to provide quality feedback because, at the end of the
day, all of us want our service and product providers to be in a
position to offer us better goods and services.
Our Business Analysis Involves a Sophisticated Technical
Analysis
All of this data is then entered via the internet, through
a sophisticated on-line program of our design which produces
a “raw’ BA
Report which is then assessed by a team of senior Business
Analysts for the types of insights that only a hundred
years of business experience can extract.
Our Business Analysis Results in Producing
a ProfiTune Business Analysis Report
Finally a Business Analysis Report is prepared for interpretation
to our Client. We arrange an appointment with our client
and spend between one and two hours going through the details of their
answers and of the reports findings until our client has a crystal
clear appreciation of both the potential areas for improvement and
of the strategies tailored to each area that are a key part of the
BA Report. In the simplest of terms, the Business Analysis Report
tells our clients how they can begin the process of improving their
performance and it also offers an objective measure of their suitability
for the next level of business improvement services that we offer
- those of training and coaching.
What Happens After We Present The Business Analysis Report To Our
Clients
If the BA literally indicates sufficient profit improvement
potential exists to self-fund on-going training or coaching, we may
make a recommendation that our client proceed on one of those paths.
As a general rule, we will not offer these higher level services unless
they would result in a net gain in revenue by our client even after
our fees are taken into account.
We Provide A Money Back Guarantee Policy
The Business Analysis carries this unique Guarantee:
"If your Business Analysis fails to identify unrealized profit
potential of at least ten times your investment in it, we will refund
your entire investment and deliver and interpret your Business Analysis
Report for nothing!"
If a Business Analysis shows that the Client and their business
have a level of profit potential that would return the Client a multiple
of their investment in coaching, and the Coach senses that the Client
has a sufficient initial commitment to personal and business improvement,
the Coach may extend an offer of Coaching.
BUSINESS PROFILE
Who Is This For?
If
you are the owner (or part-owner) of a small business, have
been in operation at least 2 years, and have 5 to 200
employees, then a business profile is a quick method to assess
the the profit potential of your business by looking at several key
pieces of data about your business.
The Business Profile is not as extensive of a report as
the Business Analysis Report, but will still give the Business Owner
an initial indicator of the profit potential of his/her business before
investing the time to perform the full Business Analysis.
As a Client, What Do I Need To Do?
You should expect to spend about 1.5 hours in consultation
with an
accredited Business Improvement Specialist (BIS) thinking
out loud in
answer to the questions they will ask you.
You will need to provide basic information about your business
(we’ll
commit
to a written, Confidentiality Agreement before that happens)
about:
• Your Age
• Cost of Sales
• # of Employees
• Overheads
• Annual Sales
• Taxes Paid
What Does the Business Profile Contain?
Based upon the answers to the above questions and the information
obtained from the 1.5 hour consultation, a 3-5 page report will be
generated and sent to the Business owner within 5-7 from the time
of the consultation. The report includes, by may not be limited to
the following:
1. How much money you will
need in order to reach financially freedom (a place where you can choose
to work in the business or not and the choice you
make has no impact upon you or your family’s
financial security or well being).
2. How you can make small changes
that will increase the profitability of your business,
for example:
a.
The difference any percentage of increase in
sales will make on your after tax profit.
b. The difference any percentage of decrease
in your cost of sales or overhead will make on
the after tax profit of your business.
3. How much money these small changes
will mean to you over the period of time until you reach financial freedom.
4. A rough estimate of how much
your business is worth today, if you were to sell it, based upon a few key factors.
5. A qualified professional’s viewpoint
of the key challenges you have in your business and strategies
to overcome them.
6. A qualified professional’s observation
and opinion on how the business organization
and work structure supports you in achieving your goals
and how it also may impede the achievement of desired
goals.
7. A recommendation on how you
can capitalize on the strengths of your organization and
how you can overcome weaknesses and/or obstacles.
8. Further recommendations as to
how you can capture this and other profits for
the business based upon the stated challenges of the
business and your desired future.
Team Performance Analysis
As with any of our services, we assess where
your team is before beginning any coaching or training
work with you. The Team Performance Analysis is an
assessment of how your team is performing: how well they
work with one another, the level of communication at
which they are operating, and the cultural nuances of
the organization. The tools and methodologies we
use to do this analysis are based upon your unique requirements
and circumstances.
Our assessment provides you with
understanding and insight into why your team is working together they way that
they are, why you are getting the results you are getting
from them, and strategies that can be applied to alter
the culture and get the results you desire.
The Team Performance Analysis is customized
to the size of the team and the uniqueness of the challenges faced
by them. And, as with any of our services, the
Team Performance Analysis is focused on the potential
of the team and how that potential can be expressed to
its fullest.
What is Coaching?
Coaching is a professional partnership between
a Coach and Client in which the Coach
assumes a responsibility for assisting their Clients to
grow in their capacity to meet
and overcome the business and personal challenges that stand
between them and the results they seek.
Business Coaching
Business coaching is about applying the above
process with business owners or managers in the context of their
business, to improve the quality of both their professional and personal
performance - and to improve the quality of the results that flow
from their performance. The focus of Business Coaching is on improving
the management performance of the Client, and the consequential
performance of the business as a whole.
An offer of business coaching to prospective
clients will not be made without first completing a thorough analysis
of their business (a ProfiTune Business Analysis) to determine the client's "unrealized
profit potential". This is done to ensure that the potential
exists for any coaching to be "self-funded" by an improvement
in profitability, the value of which exceeds the investment required
in coaching. Effective Business Coaching should never be a net expense
to a business but rather, should result in a net increase in earnings,
even when the coaching investment
is taken into account.
Executive Coaching
"Executive Coaching" as defined by the 1999 International
Executive Coaching Summit in that it is designed to serve a Client
who is "a key contributor with a powerful position in an organization
and is accountable for highly complex decisions with a wide scope
of impact on an organization and, possibly, an industry as a whole." The
focus of Executive Coaching is usually on the mastery of fundamental
leadership skills and their application to the coordination and development
of teams of either "operatives" or "middle managers".
Executive Coaching clients
usually have formal tertiary training and
qualifications in management.
Group Coaching
Group Coaching, the Coach manages coaching
sessions in which two or more clients participate. While the methodology
is predominantly the same as for “individual” (i.e., one
coach, one client) coaching, the coach manages any obstacles to a
good coaching outcome that are likely to arise in from group dynamics,
and to capitalize on the opportunity to draw from the collective
knowledge, experience and wisdom of a group of motivated individuals.
